Galaxy United FC is a newly formed club in the Women’s National Premier League, after successfully bidding for one of eight WNPL licenses in 2015. Prior to it’s existence, a temporary club, Geelong Galaxy had been formed to provide opportunities for the development of footballers in the Western region.

In both cases it was only possible because of strong support from local clubs and the hard work and persistence of key individuals.

Before this women in the district would need to travel up the highway to one of the Melbourne based clubs.
